Birdies4Brains Executive Director visits WCCO News to Promote UnGala 2023 Fundraising Event

Updated: Feb 22, 2023

Birdies4Brains Executive Director Alissa Madden sits down with hosts Heather Brown and AJ Hilton at WCCO to promote the return of its UnGala fundraising event on the evening of Friday, February 17 at The Whim in Minneapolis. It’s called an UnGala because it’s a casual fundraiser with no fancy clothes that feels like a party. The event – hosted by Mark Rosen – will include a silent and live auction, a grant recipient guest speaker, and local musicians including DJ Espada and The White Keys.

Birdies4Brains raises money to award grants to brain injury survivors experiencing a financial hardship. The organization is most known for its annual “100 Holes” golf fundraising event where each summer a group of local golfers play 100 holes in one day – starting at sunrise and finishing at dusk.

The organization was founded by Stillwater native Brian Eder after his sister, Christine Erickson, almost died from a brain aneurysm in 2009. Click here to watch a video about Birdies 4 Brains.
